At the start of the year I have set the goal of working on a model every week. However, since then, I have been busy with mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans done in AutoCAD and Revit. What I've realized is that my work was more spread out between ongoing projects and emerging opportunities.
Today I want to start two models: one of a Lego Technics and another one of a Steel sheet cabinet used by the City of Calgary. Here are pictures of each:
I chose the Telehandler model because it is a simple model with 3 easy functioning joints. And the cabinet inspired me because I have recently been asked to price similar cabinet for a project in Alberta and I have done a sheet metal tutorial in Solidworks. It will be an interesting model to learn more on both of these topics.
In order to start these I'm simply going to create one or more parts so that a first file exists. I also make it easy for me to get into a new project. I'm not pushing myself to create a ton of files or create something majestic. I just want to get the ball rolling.
I will leave you with these two screen shots of "warm up" models, I have modeled them in Solidworks for the purpose of this blog post.
